Book description (eng):
In the photo book Figle-migle, Anna Małgorzata Stankiewicz collected 83 black and white photographs of her father Mirosław Stankiewicz. They are a photojournalistic record of everyday life from the 1960s, and the main roles are played by children and youth.
They form a nostalgic story, but not without a serene look at the reality of that time. The visual narrative is complemented by the texts of children's counting lists and minimalistic graphics, which bind this reportage into a coherent whole.
In the book, the reader will find a critical outline of the work of Mirosław Stankiewicz by Dr. Kamila Dworniczak-Leśniak, who is an attempt to place his legacy in the context of the era, not only in Poland, but also against the background of global trends. Figle-Migle also includes a short biographical note of the photojournalist and a rich index of the works published in it with the location of places that are scenery for the stories told.
A very personal introduction to the publication, written by the photographer's daughter, author and publisher in one person, prepares the reader emotionally for a journey into the land of childhood full of emotions.
The book is prepared in Polish and English.
